The Z248F Special Edition steps the Husqvarna Z200-series formula up to a 48-inch deck — the same Kawasaki FR Series V-twin and ClearCut deck technology as the smaller Z242F SE, with a wider cut and a deeper deck shell tuned for properties between one and three acres. For owners who want Kawasaki engine reliability and the upgraded SE seat-and-tire package without stepping up to the premium Z254F or commercial-tier MZ48, the Z248F SE is the sweet spot in the catalog.
Power comes from a 21.5-horsepower Kawasaki FR Series (FR651V) V-twin OHV engine displacing 726cc. The FR series is the residential-grade extension of Kawasaki's commercial FX engine line, sharing the same overhead-valve architecture, full pressure lubrication, and dual-element premium air filtration. Owners running the Z248F SE on a typical weekly residential schedule will see oil and filter changes once a season — essentially the entire engine maintenance routine. Electric key start, automatic choke, and a regulated charging system handle cold mornings without operator intervention.
Twin Hydro-Gear ZT-2200 integrated transaxles power the rear wheels independently, allowing true zero-radius pivoting controlled through a pair of lap bars. Top forward speed is 6.5 mph and reverse runs at 3.5 mph, calibrated for one- to three-acre properties. The ZT-2200 is a maintenance-free, sealed residential zero-turn transmission — well-proven across Husqvarna's Z200 line, with no routine fluid service required.
The 48-inch ClearCut fabricated steel deck is built from welded 10-gauge steel with reinforcement strips, and cuts at six height settings between 1.5 and 4 inches via a spring-assisted, foot-activated deck lift. Three Hi-Lift cutting blades work in side-discharge configuration. Air-flow control baffles draw air through the deck shell to lift grass blades for a cleaner cut and improved discharge dispersal. The deck accepts an optional Husqvarna mulch kit (sold separately).
Operator comfort centers on a Special Edition 15-inch high-back seat, soft-grip lap bars, all-terrain rear tires for improved traction across uneven ground, and an anti-slip foot area. A patent-pending automatic park-brake system engages as the steering levers are moved outward. The dashboard layout is honest and minimal: ignition, throttle, choke, PTO knob, digital hour meter, fuel gauge.
The chassis is welded steel with an integrated front guard and bumper and a corrosion-resistant powder-coat finish, and the fuel tank holds 3.5 gallons. A deck wash port allows post-mowing cleanup with a garden hose. The standard rear hitch accepts most popular tow-behind attachments — dump carts, broadcast spreaders, plug aerators, dethatchers, and lawn rollers all mount without modification.
For one- to three-acre properties where Kawasaki engine reliability and the upgraded seat-and-tire package matter more than commercial-tier transmissions, the Z248F Special Edition is a well-balanced 48-inch zero-turn in Husqvarna's residential lineup. The Kawasaki FR engine and 48-inch ClearCut deck together justify the small premium over the standard Z248F.
Free curbside freight delivery to all states.
Your mower ships fully assembled and ready to run — not flat-packed, not "some assembly required." It arrives as a complete machine. There's no separate delivery charge, no fuel surcharge, and no fee for liftgate service. Free means free.
How long it takes
Most orders arrive in about 7–10 business days from the day you order. Large outdoor power equipment moves by freight carrier on a pallet, not by parcel courier, so the timeline is a bit longer than a small package — but it's honest. We'd rather give you a real date you can plan around than a fast promise we can't keep. If your timing is tight for a particular weekend or project, call us before you order and we'll give you the most accurate estimate we can for your zip code.
What the delivery day looks like
Once your mower leaves the warehouse, the freight carrier contacts you to schedule a delivery appointment — a window when someone can be home to receive it. This isn't a "leave it on the porch" delivery; freight requires a person to accept the shipment. The driver brings the machine to the curb or the end of your driveway on a liftgate. We strongly recommend taking a few minutes to inspect the mower before you sign — check for any shipping damage to the crate or the machine, and note anything on the delivery paperwork. In the rare event something arrives damaged, that signed note makes resolving it fast and simple.
Tracking and carriers
You'll receive tracking information once your order ships. We use established national freight carriers — R+L Carriers, Estes, XPO, and FedEx Freight — chosen for reliable handling of oversized equipment. If a delivery window ever slips or you need to reschedule, our team can step in and coordinate with the carrier on your behalf. You're never left to chase a 1-800 line alone.

You don't pay sales tax on this machine. Because we ship factory-direct from out of state, you will never pay sales tax — no exceptions. On a mower in this price range, that's typically a few hundred dollars that stays in your pocket — money a local dealer would have added at the register. On a $2,000–$3,000 machine, that alone can cover a season of fuel or a full set of attachments.
What you pay is what you see. The price on this page is the all-in price. There's no tax line waiting at checkout, no dealer documentation fee, no "assembly" or "setup" charge, no freight surcharge tacked on at the end. The number you decide on is the number you pay. We think that's how it should be — you shouldn't need a calculator to find out what a mower actually costs.
How dealer pricing usually works. At a traditional dealer, the sticker is only the starting point. By the time you've added state and county sales tax, a documentation fee, and sometimes a prep or assembly charge, the out-the-door figure can climb noticeably above the shelf price. Factory-direct removes all of those layers — you're paying for the machine, not the building it sat in.
No tax, ever. Unlike other sellers, we don't make exceptions for certain states or destinations. Your price is our price, from any address, every time.
Sparroo is a family-owned outdoor power equipment store based in Titusville, Florida.
We're not a faceless marketplace and we're not a dropship middleman who's never touched a mower. We're a family business that knows this equipment, sells the same trusted brands your local dealer carries, and delivers them factory-direct — so you get dealer-grade machines without the dealer-grade markup.
The brands we carry
Our catalog spans the names that have earned their reputation in American yards: Husqvarna, Toro, Ariens, Cub Cadet, Gravely, Bad Boy, Craftsman, Troy-Bilt, and Yard Force. Whether you're maintaining a quarter-acre lot or running a few acres on a zero-turn, these are the machines built to do it season after season.
Why we do it this way
A mower is a serious purchase — often a multi-year investment in your weekends and your property. We started Sparroo because we believe people shouldn't have to overpay for that, and shouldn't have to guess whether they're buying the right machine. By cutting out the showroom and the commissioned sales floor, we keep prices low and put the savings where they belong: with you. And because we're a small family operation, when you call, you're talking to people who actually care whether you end up with the right tool for your yard.
Talk to us before you buy
Not sure whether you need a riding mower or a zero-turn? Wondering if a deck size fits through your gate, or whether electric makes sense for your acreage? Call or email us. We'd rather spend ten minutes helping you choose the right machine once than sell you the wrong one and sort it out later.

Same machine. Same factory warranty. A better price.
When you buy from Sparroo, you're getting an identical, brand-new machine to the one on a dealer's showroom floor — backed by the same manufacturer warranty — for meaningfully less. Here's exactly why that's possible, and what it means for you.
Factory-direct pricing. No showroom rent, no commissioned sales floor, no regional distributor taking a cut. Every layer we remove is a layer you don't pay for — that's how we come in well under a typical dealer's price on the same model.
All-in pricing, no hidden fees. The price you see is the price you pay — no documentation fee, no prep or setup charge, no freight surcharge at the end. If sales tax applies in your state, it's shown clearly at checkout, never as a surprise.
Full manufacturer warranty. A lower price doesn't mean less protection. You're buying a brand-new machine covered by the exact same factory warranty you'd get paying full price at a dealer.
Free freight delivery. No delivery fee, no assembly charge, no hidden surcharge. Your mower ships free, right to your driveway.
Honest, no-pressure pricing. No bait sticker, no upsell at the register, no fine print. Just a fair price on a quality machine.
Real people, real help. We're a family-owned Florida business. Call us before you buy with questions, and after you buy if you need anything. You'll reach someone who actually knows the equipment.
